Has anyone had success or know someone who has had success with True Hope for Anxiety and Depression? I don't want to go on meds but I do want to feel better. There has got to be a better way.Anyone had success with True Hope for Anxiety and Depression?
Yes. I quit drinking alcohol and drungs in 1989. After 9 months in Recovery, I was diagnosed with Major Depression and I had anxiety. The doctor wanted to put me on meds but I bucked. I gave in and fought it for several years (wanted off off them, etc). I was having difficulty functioning, esp. on the job due to anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, depression. I had become suicidal. This was in approx. 1996. I would have good months and bad month, as my boss would say. I eventually applied for Disability Benefits with the support of my doctor and counselor. (I had been in intensive therapy as well). I was awarded Disability benefits - at this point I was living with my folks. (2001)
I was so RELIEVED to now have the Disability benefits b/c of work instability. I met a nice man who accepted me. I haven't been depressed severely since the job stress has been relieved. My boyfriend and I eventually married in 2004 and I live a stable, happy life. I was having problems with severe tiredness, wanting to sleep alot. Since the doctor started me on Abilify, this has improved tremendously. I go to counseling as needed now (after 20 years approx). I am on Abilify, Wellbuterin, Klonopin, Luvox.
I was suicidal. Today, We took the dog to the vet due to illness, I prepared dinner then went to the gym. My life is SO much better! A counselor once told me ';Hang in there'; and ';Never give up.'; I am also alcohol and drug free for 19 years. My life has done a 360....but it takes time.
P.S. I also developed a relationship with Jesus and have a good group of strong Christian believers....very important for me. I started this in 1995 plus AA supportAnyone had success with True Hope for Anxiety and Depression?
Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.
Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there are natural ways to do it without medication. There's this herb called ';St John's Wort'; - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only and ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety and panic-attacks as St John's Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.
If you're unable to take St John's Wort, you can substitute it with Siberian Ginseng or Licorice Herb.
The problem is that, even if your Serotonin is balanced... you have that ';learned behavior'; in your mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction... There are several other techniques to help cope them!

My opinion is get your self in church Christ Jesus, the hope of glory in the holy bible. Who else can deliver but the deliver himself. Christ Jesus.
The best hope we have is in the good Lord. I can do all things in Christ Jesus. He was in the world and the world knew him not but to them who knew him he gave life forever more. Christ said when you pray, pray believing you have received it. Now I know who my deliverer is I shall never want because he lives with in me.
