Is this true the best of hope is to be found not in moments of faith but in times of doubt and utter despair?

I hope most people would like to agree, but some, the most daring ones, might still disagree, in what ways, I would like to know.

Your thoughts! Is this true the best of hope is to be found not in moments of faith but in times of doubt and utter despair?
Yes! You work a dead end job, you buy all the latest things and you think your life is going well. The more things you own, the bigger family you have, the more responsibilities you take on. Now lets say your house catches fire and you lose everything, you don't have insurance. You become depressed, don't go to work, and get fired. You are left with no home, no family, no job.

When you have nothing, you have more freedom to do what you want. You were working that job because you thought you needed all that money, and you had all those things because your friends all have them, and television advertising says you should spend 拢6k on a new kitchen. If you hated the job, you are now free from it. You have no ties to anything, and if you had a dream in mind you could now pursue it.

Many people will give up on their dream job or lifestyle because they settle down, or think they can't do it and become too comfortable in this 'temporary' job that they got into when they left university. You have no job taking up your day, and you no longer feel the need to spend all your free time on the computer or watching TV - because you don't have either! Now, basically, you have 24 hours a day to do as you please. With nothing else to do, nothing side tracking you, it is the time to be innovative and ambitious. You've been freed from this cycle and so there is new hope to follow a better goal.

This is obviously an extreme situation, but you lose something and you will see a new light. If somebody dies, you feel a sense of urgency rather than putting things off. If you're in doubt of your ability, you visualise where this will take you so you work to get yourself out of the situation. You might have an exam coming up and feel the pressure, and rather than work hard you self destruct in the form of intentionally sabotaging your chances and doing badly, to have an excuse. You could have just worked at it, in your time of doubt, but no, the chance has gone and you failed. But, of course, you've lost that chance, which could give you more hope and drive to succeed in other things! Is this true the best of hope is to be found not in moments of faith but in times of doubt and utter despair?
i agree with you. that is certainly sometimes the case... but not always.

i know that is a 'cop-out' answer in a way...

but it is how i feel.

sometimes it is darkest before the dawn...

but sometimes one just likes dancing in the rain...

for a rainbow is a sacred sign of God's Covenant with all humankind.

my thoughts...

hope you have a wonderful day.

I don't know what faith has to do with this. If you replaced word faith with joy then I would agree with you. Otherwise, your question is a fodder for religion mongers.
What is truth but an opinion? With respect your question is a generalisation that not all will subscribe to. Truth, hope and faith are meaningless terms without context.
Great faith requires great doubt, but I wouldn't put it the way you have. Is Gethsemane greater than the Cross?

[I am talking symbolically of course as I am not a Christian.]
True. And the best of love and happiness can be found init as well.
