ok so i was driving for about 2 minutes then i get pulled over by a cop that was following me and i received a speeding ticket and an improperly signaling ticket. i know someone else who had this happen to them and someone said that they arent allowed to follow you and give you multiple tickets, is that true? i live in alberta btw.I dont know if this is true! i hope it is...?
The truth is that it is (#1) perfectly legal for an Officer to follow a vehicle. And (#2) also perfectly legal for an Officer to issue more than one citation.
I wish Student Driver programs would delve into the multitude of ';Urban Myths'; associated with Law Enforcement. I am still amazed at what people will pass onto others and take it as fact.I dont know if this is true! i hope it is...?
Both are false.
They are allowed to follow you, and they are allowed to give multiple tickets.
Part of patrolling involves being behind cars. I once gave someone 4 tickets in one stop, and could have given them more.
