IS IT TRUE (i hope not)That Terry wogan gets 10,000 pounds every time he hosts bbc children in need.?

Is that all, we must of spent at least 100k in the after show party and taxis home for every one.oh by the way did you know that they actually start the show with well over 3 million in the kitty but only add it into the figure in dribs %26amp; drabs to make it seem like your getting somewhere, how many times I have heard on talk back ';the backers have authorised us to show another million in the pot'; wogan counts as one of the backers.............

You have to put things into perspective, for starters wogan is on a fixed wage %26amp; in his contract is or was the face of the BBC as is Alan dedicot the voice of the BBC it would be obsurd to have that in their contract but not actually appear in such an event, yes at the end of the month he would of got his usuall salery, but paid for the event.... never

And from my experience the wage he earns go's a long way into helping others. he is the patron of many worthwhile charities %26amp; gives alot more back.

take a look around %26amp; you will see that programmes like strickly come dancing are also raising funds for children in need %26amp; yet they all get paid %26amp; it also costs around 拢100k to hire the tv studio for a day, not including staff costs and brucies bill........

so its swings and roundabouts really, you could also take it as far as an office admin assistant working for children in need the charity (%26amp; the employ many of them) is on a salery of 拢22k a year.... should they work for free, or even min wage ?IS IT TRUE (i hope not)That Terry wogan gets 10,000 pounds every time he hosts bbc children in need.?
If Wogan does receive this level of income for hosting the show then he should be disgusted with himself. Perhaps he donates it to Children in Need and that would prove his good intentions.IS IT TRUE (i hope not)That Terry wogan gets 10,000 pounds every time he hosts bbc children in need.?
bring back lenny henry

with that great smile

im show he do it for free
The BBC revealed that while a string of household names give their times for free, Sir Terry, 68, receives 拢1,300 an hour to host the charity TV show.

But the BBC said the fee has been in place since 1980, when Sir Terry first presented Children in Need, and has never been negotiated.

The broadcaster said it was a ';nominal'; sum and the money comes from its budget, not that of the charity.

GET SOMEBODY ELSE TO PRESENT IT FOR FREE TERRY IS PAST IT NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More like 拢100,000..!...Terry / Bruce / and Des know how to play the money game ....even on ';Charity ';Golf games they get 拢100,000 for just showing up..!
Up to now , I think he has managed to trouser a very tidy sum indeed when everyone else on the presentation team gives their services free. Not sure of the figure but is a nice little earner. He reckons the BEEB forced it on him! The idea of REFUSING the money never occurred to him. Perhaps he thought it would be rude to turn it down.
i hope not and if he does i hope that he gives it straight back
Probably it's about time they got rid of the untalented waste of space.
i heard it too, if he keeps it then it's just wrong, apparantly other celebs do it for free.
he does take a fee but im not sure how much, he doesnt hide the fact and would probably do it for free if asked. I think the fee is paid by the bbc rather than the organisation itself
It is true (although not sure of the exact amount).

He's pretty much the only presenter for it that gets paid.

Disgraceful.
no it is not true he got nearer 拢15,000 with his expenses and perks ie travel and hotel paid for etc
Dont know but if it is true he should be ashamed of himself.
To be sure!
No idea but good for him if he does.
ummm idk ask ur mom

lol jk

i dont think so
Why the bloody hell do they let him do it then?????

I would rather see Fern Cotton or Davina or someone present the show anyway........

He an old fart!
He actually got 拢1300 per hour for the last one which makes 拢9,065 for the seven hours that he did!!!

He should've donated it if you ask me!
Could well be - You don't think that all those stars do it for NOTHING?

They will get expenses, possible appearance fee, free food, public exposure.

Sadly a lot of 'Charites' do this kind of stuff. I worked for a small charity and the amount of money that went on exorbatant wages, expenses and overpriced mobile phones etc etc.
Wogan's presentation skills and familiar name almost certainly boost the takings by hundreds of thousands compared with an unknown. Many fund raising efforts of all sizes find such a policy a good investment. Admittedly there are few things more fatuous than the cult of the celebrity. However that is the way the world works.
I hope not....

Where are you Terry... speak up.... He couldnt could he ?
He is reported to be the only celebrity paid for his participation in Children in Need, having received a fee every year since 1980 (拢9,065 in 2005). Wogan, however, has stated that he would ';quite happily do it for nothing'; and that he ';never asked for a fee';. The BBC stated that the fee had ';never been negotiated';. While Wogan's fee has been paid from BBC resources and not from the Children in Need charity fund. While there is no record of Wogan ever having repaid his fee from previous years,he has stated that he will not be receiving payment for presenting the 2007 show.
Actually i heard it was more than that. I think its a true statement to say he gets paid for that role. He apparently justified it by saying he spends a lot of his time researching for BBC C in N.
