In our minds, is there a constant struggle between what we know is true and what we hope is true?

鈥nd a machine with artificial intelligence would focus only on what it knows is true and wouldn鈥檛 hope at all? So believing in illogical concepts such as luck, omens, truth in old sayings, an afterlife etc is something of which only a sapient organic creature is capable? In our minds, is there a constant struggle between what we know is true and what we hope is true?
I like it. But I think a hope program could be written. Also a program for disappointment, pain, shame, hate etc... The thing is, only a sick human being would create a creature that could feel pain.

Correction: Sick and/or horny. In our minds, is there a constant struggle between what we know is true and what we hope is true?
I would say there was a lot of truth in that. We all have to battle with the bounds of reality. Some people prefer to live in denial and others like the fantasy world. That's fine for them. I prefer to face reality.

You remind me of those people that knew the world was flat. Just because you personally have not had an encounter with the supernatural does not mean it does not exist. It only means you have not discovered the true fact of the spirit realm. I do not hold it against you, maybe someday you will get the opportunity to experience it for yourself.

I was once where you are but through countless encounters with supernatural events I discovered otherwise. Take care and may God bless you spiritually.
Only if one is emotionally invested in the outcome is this a problem.
Only when we grasp with attachment believing it to be permanent when in fact everything is impermanent does it cause us grief
Not in my mind.
It depends on the programming.
